Built in 1887, the exterior of this Tuscan Country House shows its age. The interior does not. It’s situated on a hill not far from the town of Lucca, and while the inside still retains as many original features as could be saved — original beams and exposed brick among them — it incorporates a number of sleek, modern surfaces that add to the juxtaposition of old v. new. There’s also a swimming pool outside with olive trees integrated into the decking to help connect it with the surroundings, and an adjacent extension that uses black furnishings and white exterior walls to stand out from the rest of the residence.a233b59fe4ec17bfbb11dadf33cbd36e 846c754273a66760Ejby1PdoJa88C69X Screen Shot 2016-08-18 at 11.41.45 Screen Shot 2016-08-18 at 11.41.59 Screen Shot 2016-08-18 at 11.42.10
