2010 Porsche Panamera Interior: Maverick Approved!

Friday, October 31st, 2008

2_01.JPG

The newest spy shots of the 2010 Porsche Panamera show an interior that just taunts you to do your best Maverick impersonation, surrounding the driver with an F-14 Tomcat-like bevy of switches, toggles and knobs. The radio and navigation controls appear to be operated by the console’s touch screen while the leather-wrapped three-spoke wheel is actually devoid of any buttons besides the Porsche-DSG thumb pads. All in all, it’s familiar yet upscale — we’ll just have to wait to see how well-integrated the technology is.

London’s Paramount Bar by Tom Dixon

Renowned English interior designer Tom Dixon is behind Paramount, London’s hottest new venue located on top of city landmark Center Point tower. The bar’s aesthetic is a blend 60s retro and futurism, articulated through the use of hard-edged materials like concrete and stone to create a kind of space-ship meets super-club. The star of course, is the spectacular view, which is only enhanced by Dixon’s clean, modern interior.

Anyone hoping to pay a visit to Paramount better get to work on their “applications” for membership, a process which, rather frightfully, mirrors a job application. Aspiring members must be “assesed” by a panel including English actor Stephen Fry.

It’s about freakin’ time. MTV Music packs nearly every video ever played on the once-upon-a-time music video channel into a free, searchable online video database that puts YouTube and its poor-quality VHS transfers to shame.I want my MTV.

Pocket Projector Now Available

The Pico Media Projector is so small, you’re able to slip it into just about any pocket you want. It measures a mere 11.5cm x 5cm x 2.2cm and tips the scales at just 160 grams, while the rechargeable lithium ion battery is good for an hour’s worth of playback time. Looks (and sounds) like the perfect device to share your favorite photos and videos stored on a portable media player or cell phone with a small group of friends without having to copy the files over to a computer, saving your friends’ from squinting their eyes in the process. Don’t expect full High Definition resolution from the Pico Media Projector though, as it won’t be able to scale such heights. You will be able to pick up the Pico Media Projector at an extremely affordable €299.99

Let out the sushi Chef in you!

sushezi.jpg

Becoming a sushi chef takes years of training under a sushi master in Japan. You need a delicate touch and you need to know how to handle every type of fish. It’s not like flipping burgers, it’s an art form. Unless you have the Sushezi Sushi Tube, in which case it’s totally a piece of cake.

Simply stuff the tube with rice, load in whatever fish or filling that you want, then pop the sushi roll out and slice it up. It’s as easy as sushi will ever get for a non-Japanese sushi chef. And as an added bonus, it totally looks like a lightsaber, so you’ve got that going for you.

Online Consumerism Posts 12% Increase

Fashionista’s theory is that amidst tough economic times, (fashionistas) recessionistas are turning to online shopping to get their fix semi-anonymously. WWD reported a 12% increase in online sales as compared to last year, and it makes sense considering gas prices and the general cutting back that’s happening across socioeconomic lines. But I like Fashionista’s rationale — that shame is keeping shopaholics from venturing out to do any damage.

Let Lea Redmond send your next birthday card or love letter by transcribing your sentiments onto tiny stationary using her tiny pen and enclosing it in a tiny envelope and sealing it with a tiny wax stamp.

Formerly only available in cafés and stores where Lea would set up shop and perform the service, she now offers her epistolary skills online—for $8 she’ll write up a mini-letter and either mail it off to the recipient of your choice or to you for hand delivery. Maddeningly precious, yes, but the attention to detail (note Lea’s custom uniform) is hard to resist.

Hobart I-Cool chair: Do nothing to burn your extra fat!

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

The Hobart I-Cool seat concept is unquestionably one of the most amazing, innovative, and stylish pieces of fitness equipment we have seen till date. Designed to reduce body weight while sitting and doing nothing, the Hobart I-Cool Calorie Burning seat makes use of a proprietary system for temperature regulation. Users can set the temperature to suit their liking to enjoy the comfort of personal space. The Tel-Aviv-based Padwa Design’s I-Cool seat looks really inviting, but I wonder how exactly it functions. I wouldn’t like the idea of sweating inside my office while sitting on this chair, but I would love to see this thing going into production, for the stunning make and the innovative functionality. Salvation at last!
