Combining portability with a sleek design and high-quality speaker performance, these hardshell lightweight backpacks look to bring back the boombox days of the past in style.

Weighing in at just over 13 pounds, the BeatBringer quite literally brings the music wherever you go thanks to the pack’s audio streaming capabilities and lengthy battery life. Each speaker is housed within an impact resistant ABS polymer pack and features anodized aluminum hardware making it a tough alternative to handheld portable speakers. And since proof is in the sound quality, each BeatBringer boasts two six-inch woofers, two 25mm soft dome neodymium tweeters, two 100w continuous powered amplifiers and a 22.2V 5200mAh Lithium-ion battery. These things are sure to bump the block and if you’re interested their Kickstarter campaign launches July 14 with early bird specials.

Avis Now lets you pick your rental car from your phone

To keep up with with the growing proliferation of car sharing services (and their own sister company Zipcar), Avis will now let you pick your ride, extend your rental or just breeze through the car pick up process right from your phone. The updates are all part of the new Avis Now features, which launched today at 50 locations across the US and will expand to select international markets in the near future.

To take advantage of Avis Now, drivers have to be enrolled in the free Avis Preferred loyalty program and have the Avis app installed on their iOS or Android device. From there, users can book a car, view real-time availability and even switch cars in the lot if they spot something they’d rather be driving. Like other car sharing services, the app lets you flash the lights, lock or unlock the doors and return the car without the need for human interaction. (Added bonus: you can leave those bulky rental car keys in the car during your vacation and unlock your car with TouchID.) On a more mundane note, the app also lets drivers check their mileage, fuel and rental agreement.

Kim Kardashian Covers ‘Forbes’ After Her Video Game Earns $160 Million

In a change of pace, Forbes‘ new cover featuring Kim Kardashian is less about sex appeal and all about business, which Kim herself portrays by trading her bathing suit and lingerie for business-like attire. The reality TV star is seemingly best known for her pretty face and immaculate physique, but Forbes is out to prove that Kim is the new mobile mogul.

Since June of 2014 when her mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood — which allows players to create their own celebrity, befriend Kim and work their way onto the A-list. — launched, Kanye’s better half has pocketed a cool $45 million USD from sales, as the game has been downloaded 45 million times and in turn generated $160 million USD in revenue. This is much of the reason that the Armenian goddess has landed at number 42 on Forbes‘ Celebrity 100 list this year, earning $51 million USD total. Continue reading

The Nivea Campaign John Hegarty Called the Stupidest Thing He’s Ever Seen

Ready for a sunscreen-shitting seagull?
Sir John Hegarty, co-founder of Bartle Bogle Hegarty and all-around advertising legend, was jury president of the Titanium and Integrated Lions at Cannes this year. And his jury recognized plenty of brilliant work, including the Titanium Grand Prix winner, REI’s #OptOutside campaign.
But at the press conference announcing the winners, Hegarty didn’t open his remarks by talking about the top-notch work. He opened by mentioning a Nivea campaign that was so shockingly wretched, it’s a wonder it was entered at Cannes at all. In fact, it’s a wonder it’s not a parody. Continue reading

Yeah, that’s right, sentry guns are more than just obstacles to be avoided in video games now. Beltec, a British airsoft gun company, has released what is the first sentry gun of its kind anywhere in the world.

This evil looking tripod can be set up anywhere thanks to its adjustable legs, so you can build out your defensive position in the most aggressive way. Simply set it up, clip on a compatible weapon (most are), and find cover. The infrared cameras can see up to 60 feet in the dark, so as soon as an opposing team makes themselves seen you can take aim and fire remotely. Thanks to the great motor on this gun it can track enemy targets slowly or steadily, or can quickly and smoothly turn to aim at one. Of course, to make it fair, this thing does come with a Disable Plate so it can be put out of commission for 20 seconds by a sharp enough shot.
