Some regard it among the best albums ever made. Others think it’s too disjointed. Regardless, it’s one of the most important albums ever recorded, and now you can own the first copy ever pressed. The Beatles White Album Pressing No. 0000001 was given to Ringo Starr upon the album’s completion, with the other three band members receiving Nos. 0000002-4. It was pressed from the very first masters (as indicated by the -1 matrix numbers), has “Factory Sample Not For Sale” stickers on both discs, and, since it was stored in a bank vault for 35 years, is in pristine condition, as are the pack-in portrait photos and lyric poster. A piece of rock history that would be the highlight of any collection, with proceeds going to benefit the Lotus Foundation. Continue reading

Developed in conjunction with Yamaha and debuted at the 1965 Tokyo Motor Show, the Toyota 2000 GT was Japan’s first “supercar”, capable of a 135 mph top speed. Only 351 were built, and only 50 made it to the US. This particular 1968 example was the first of those, and the 100th production chassis made. It’s rare in that it’s set up for left-hand driving, and also includes the original owner’s manual and rarer still complete original factory tool roll. Repainted just this year in factory-correct Bellatrix Yellow, it’s one of the best examples of these until recently under-appreciated cars available. Its on auction now at Keno Brothers. Estimate $600.000

The holiday season in Spain unofficially kicks off with the much-anticipated annual ad for the Christmas lottery. A national tradition since 1812, the Christmas lottery is more of a group affair than other lotteries—it’s traditional for people to share the winnings by buying shared tickets with colleagues, friends and family.
The new Burnett spot captures this sentiment beautifully through the story of Justino, a lonely overnight security guard at a mannequin factory. Justino passes the time by playing with the mannequins, and setting them up in poses for the factory’s daytime staff to enjoy. And in the end, they repay his kindness in an unexpected way. West End Coast fuses the talents they’ve mastered in their respective careers, from Andy’s role as frontman and co-founder of Mamas Gun to Shawn’s numerous self-produced projects with AM and his own Ping Pong Orchestra.
